Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 23, 2026

VideoFocus is designed to be private by default. We do not collect personal information, we do not track your activity, and we do not show ads. Nearly everything the app stores — your library, screen time data, favorites, watch history, and passcode — lives on your device and nowhere else.

Information we do not collect

  • We do not require an account to use VideoFocus.
  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or location.
  • We do not use advertising networks or behavioral tracking.
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.

Information stored on your device

The following is stored locally inside the app's sandbox on your iPhone or iPad and is not transmitted to us:

  • Channels you've subscribed to and videos you've saved
  • Playlists, favorites, and Watch Later items
  • Watch history and screen time usage
  • Screen time limits and weekly schedule
  • Parental passcode (stored securely in the iOS Keychain)
  • Theme and accent color preferences

This data is removed when you delete the app.

YouTube Data API

VideoFocus uses the YouTube Data API (provided by Google) to search for channels and videos, fetch thumbnails and titles, and stream video content. When you use search or playback features, the app sends requests to YouTube's servers.

Your use of YouTube content through VideoFocus is subject to the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Google may collect information about these requests as described in their policy.

VideoFocus does not send any personally identifying information to the YouTube API.

Children's privacy

VideoFocus is designed to be safe for families, including children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app does not require an account and does not collect any personal information, there is nothing for parents to request, review, or delete from us.

Because VideoFocus uses the YouTube Data API, parents should be aware that search and playback requests are sent to Google's servers. We recommend reviewing Google's privacy practices if this is a concern.

Your rights under GDPR and CCPA

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. Because VideoFocus does not collect personal data, we do not hold any information to access, correct, or delete. All data stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.

We do not sell personal information.

Security

Your data is protected by the standard iOS app sandboxing model. Your parental passcode is stored using the iOS Keychain, which is encrypted and protected by the device's hardware security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated within the app.
